Should you add a new service to your clinic?
This week on the podcast, we’re talking about the art (and strategy) of adding new services to your clinic. Denzil chats with Brandon Jacobs, founder of Park Integrative Health, about how he’s built a thriving multidisciplinary clinic by carefully selecting services that align with his vision: medical and allied health practitioners collaborating together.
Denzil shares Brandon’s tips on growing intentionally — everything from starting with what you know, to focusing on big-picture goals, to the importance of timing. Whether you’re considering adding new disciplines or just curious about what makes a great clinic tick, this episode has something for you.

Oh hi, it's Denzel again. Have you noticed how some multidisciplinary clinics feel like they just get it Like when you walk in, it's clear that they've mastered that sweet spot between what people need and what keeps them coming back. But here's the question nobody talks about enough. How do they choose which services to offer in the first place? It's a tough one. I mean, you've been doing what you know best for a long time and now the idea of adding something new how will you know if it's going to fail or if it's going to change everything?
Speaker 1:When I sat down with Brandon Jacobs on Radio Front Desk, his story really stuck with me. His clinic Park Integrative Health isn't just another multidisciplinary space. It's a thoughtfully curated team of allied health practitioners and physicians all under one roof. They've got acupuncture, family medicine, mental health, nutrition, massage therapy and the list just keeps going on. And what's even better, they made it all work seamlessly. What really impressed me was how much thought went into choosing which service to include. Brandon didn't just draw names from a hat. He carefully chose each new discipline to align with the clinic's core values and actually meet the needs of their community.
Speaker 1:Here's what I took away from Brandon's approach, plus some ideas for those of you thinking about growing your clinic. First off, start with what you know. Think about your primary discipline, what pairs with it? Naturally, as a massage therapist himself, he built his clinic's foundation around well massage therapy. From there, he layered on services like acupuncture, nutrition and mental health. Why? Because these services align with the holistic wellness goals of his patients helping them manage pain, reduce stress and improve their overall health. Helping them manage pain, reduce stress and improve their overall health. By offering complimentary services, he created a one-stop solution for his patients and their well-being.
Speaker 1:Another thing to focus on is your clinic's goals. What's your clinic's big picture? Brandon wanted to create a space that's different from the rest. He envisioned a place where medical and allied health practitioners aren't just working side by side, they're working as allies, with the shared goal of transforming healthcare into a more connected and inclusive experience. So think it through what's your big picture? Once you know that, it's a lot easier to figure out what disciplines will help you get there.
Speaker 1:Next, think about what's missing. Brandon made it clear that location and patient demographics can teach you a lot. He told me that people kept asking him when are you going to add physical therapy? Or what about chiropractic, and so that feedback actually shaped how Park Integrative Health grew. Even if your patients aren't asking outright, you can look at trends in your area to get ideas. Maybe you're in an area with lots of young families. In that case, services like speech therapy or prenatal chiropractic might be a good option.
Speaker 1:And finally, timing does matter. So when's the right time to branch out? Should you wait until your current practitioners are book solid? Not necessarily. Here's what Brandon said. That stuck with me, even though you want to ensure you have a solid foundation to avoid everything crashing down. He told me that sometimes you just need to jump on opportunities before that fear creeps in and holds you back. I think that's kind of beautiful. So what disciplines would you add to your clinic? I'd love to hear your insights into what worked and what didn't. I know our little community here would appreciate them too. Send me a note at frontdesk at janeapp. Well, that's all from me. Thanks for tuning in and hanging out. You got this.
